Broadly, the courses in Biochemistry are designed to expose students to an understanding of the physical and chemical nature of substances in living things with particular reference to man. The interactions between substances are considered at the molecular level in relation to health and disease.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The broad objectives of the programme in Physiology is to provide a sound scientific basis for the training of doctors and allied health personnel. It is the objective of this department to teach Physiology which will enable the students grasp adequately the normal functioning of the human body. The reason comes into sharp focus when the normal functioning is compared with altered physiological conditions encountered during clinical studies. The student is eventually expected to be able to apply this knowledge to health care delivery.
