Mr. Otoide Matthew

Mr. Matthew Osahon Otoide, CNA, ACTI, was born on 26th October, 1971 into the family of Mr. Dickson Otoide and Mrs. Esther Otoide both of Ujemen, Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He attended Ujemen Primary School, Ekpoma from 1976 to 1983. He started his secondary education at Ujemen Secondary School, Ekpoma from 1984 to 1990. Due to the interest, he had in education, he went to enroll for Senior School Certificate Examination as External Candidate at Iruekpen Grammar School, Iruekpen from 1993 to 1994. He obtained his Secondary School Certificate in 1990 and 1994 respectively.  Mr. Otoide was admitted into Edo State University now Ambrose All University, Ekpoma from 1996 to 1998 for his Diploma programme. He was awarded Diploma in Accounting in 1998. Not satisfied with the acquisition of a Diploma in Accounting, he proceeded to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma from 1998 to 2005 for a degree program in Accounting.

Mr. Otoide in a quest to enhance his academic and professional pursuit also attended the Trust Computer College, Ekpoma, Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Mr. Matthew Osahon Otoide holds the FSLC 1983, SSC 1990/1994, Diploma (Accounting) 1998, B.Sc. (Accounting) 2005, NYSC (Exemption) 2006, PGPD 2011, and Diploma (Computer Information Technology) 2017.

He is a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, (ANAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria


Mr. Otoide attended many professional Conferences and Training/Workshops organized at different times by professional bodies like ANAN, ICAN, CITN, and Remita, to mention but a few.


Mr. Matthew Osahon Otoide assumed duty at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma on 11th December, 1996 as a Patrolman in the Security Division. He headed the Surveillance Unit of the Security Division from 1998 to 2000. He was converted to the rank of Executive Officer (Accounts) in 2000 and rose to the rank of Chief Accountant in October 2019.

As the Accountant, he worked so assiduously with the Director, deploying the finances of the Consult in the most efficient manner such that they were able, for the first time in the history of the University, to assist her in the payment of salary even without a kobo grant from the University.

*          Member, Council Software Steering Committee, AAU, Ekpoma

*          Member, Committee on Reconciliation of Check-off Deductions

*          Liaison Officer, Bursary Liaison with 2019 Biometric Team.

Mr. Otoide is a devoted Christian and a Deacon in Assemblies of God Nigeria.  He is the District Accountant of Esan District of Assemblies of God Nigeria and Secretary, AAUE Prays Committee.

Because of his belief in service to humanity and honest life he lives, he was elected as Treasurer of the Ambrose Alli University Cooperative Society from 2012 to 2016 and he ended his tenure meritoriously. As Treasurer of the Cooperative Society, he served in various committees among which were: Finance Committee, Petrol Products Sales Monitoring Committee; and Staff Disciplinary Committee.

He is the current Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of the prestigious Mount Carmel Secondary School, Ekpoma.

Mr. Otoide is happily married and blessed with children.
