Marshall A. Azeke PhD (Bonn)

Marshall A. Azeke obtained his BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from the then Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University) in 1991 and 1995 respectively. He obtained his PhD in Nutrition Science at the University of Bonn, Germany in 2003 with a scholarship of the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD for short). Prof. Azeke was also a Post-doctoral Research Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, at the German Federal Research Centre for Nutrition and Food (also known as Max-Rubner Institute), Karlsruhe, Germany. Prof. Azeke has received Research Grants from various organizations at different times including Short-Term Research Grant by UNESCO-MCBN, Bern, Switzerland, DAAD Research Equipment Grant, Alexander von Humboldt Laboratory Equipment Grant, TETFUND Travel Grant and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development Research Grant, among others.  

 Prof. Azeke has published 36 original research articles in both local and internal journals. He has authored one book and 5 chapters in edited books. He has presented papers in many conferences in Nigeria, within Africa and in Europe. Prof. Azeke was one of the resource persons involved in the drafting of the National Policy on Science and Technology Education of Nigeria, unveiled in September 2020. Between 2019 and early 2020, Prof. Azeke was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Quality of Plant Products, University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Prof. Azeke has been an External Examiner to the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Delta State University, Abraka and Michael Opara University of Agriculture, Umudike. He has also served as External Assessor of professorial candidates of University of Portharcourt, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigerian Defence Academy, Zaria, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba among others. 

 Prof. Azeke is a member of some professional and academic organizations. These include:

 Prof. Azeke is also a Pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church. He is married with children.
