Sir Ehiakhamen, Eddy Ekeomiojiakho was born into the Ehiakhamen family of Egoro-Naoka, Egoro, in Esan West Local Government Area, of Edo State on 6th September, 1956. He attended Local Authority Primary school, Eguare-Opoji from 1960 to 1967, St. Benedict’s Boys High School, Igueben from 1970 to 1974 and the Polytechnic, Ibadan from 1976 to 1981. He proceeded to University of Benin, Benin-city to study Public Administration in 1991.
In his hunger for more education, he went for his Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration, Edo State University, Ekpoma from 1996 to 1997. He thereafter immediately enrolled for his Master’s Degree programme in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2000. He got his Master’s Degree in 2005.
Sir Ehiakhamen, Eddy Ekeomiojiakho assumed duty as Secretariat staff in the then Bendel State University, Ekpoma as Secretary to the Rector, College of Medicine, (Bendel State University, Ekpoma in 1983). He also served as the first University Time-Table and lecture space Committee (1983).
He was Secretary to many Administrators and Professors in the then Bendel State University, Ekpoma (Now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma as follows:
Secretary to the Deputy Registrar (Establishment Division), January 1984 to March 1984, Secretary to the Registrar, 1984 to 1987, Secretary to the Dean, Faculty of Law, 1987 to 1988, Secretary to the Registrar, 1988 to 1992.
Senior Assistant Registrar II, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences 1993; Students Services Division, 1993; Exams, Records and Data Processing Unit, 1993 to 1994
Also, after his conversion to the Administrative cadre, he was a Senior Assistant Registrar I, Sir Ehiakhamen, Eddy worked in various Sections/Units of the University, such as Senate Matters Unit 1994 to 1996, Faculty Officer, Faculty of Environmental Studies, 1996 to 1997; Vice-Chancellor’s Office, 1996 to 1999.
He was Principal Assistant Registrar, Senate Matters, Personnel Services Division 2003 to 2004; Faculty Officer, Faculty of Engineering and Technology 2004; Head of Verification Unit, Admissions and Verification Division, October, 2005 to 2010; Faculty of Natural Sciences (2010).
Due to his hard work and result oriented attitude, while he was Deputy Registrar, he headed the Senate Division (2009 to 2010) Head, Exams, Records and Data Processing Division, (2010 to 2011) Head of Division, General Administration and Staff Welfare Division (2011 to 2016) etc.
Sir Ehiakhamen Eddy as a student, was a member of Federated Union of Bendel students, The Polytechnic, Ibadan (1976 to 1981); Secretary, Federated Union of Bendel Students, The Polytechnic Ibadan Branch 1977 to 1980. Member, The liquidators, a Campus Behaviour Corrective Magazine (1977 to 1981) and Member, All Nigeria United Nations Students and Youth Association (ANUNSA), Ibadan, The Polytechnic Branch 1977 to 1981.
He is a member/Secretary of over thirteen (13) Social Cultural Organizations which include member, JASOF Club of Nigeria, Edo/Delta (Now Edo Chapter, a non-political, religious but a philanthropic Association, 1983 to date and member, Club 1 to 5 of Nigeria, Igueben 2004 to date to mention but a few.
As a good follower of God, he was bestowed with the title of Knight of Saint Christopher by the Bishop of Esan Diocese, Anglican Communion, Edo State 2001. He was member/Secretary of some other Associations/Committees. He served his community as Secretary of Egoro-Naoka Progressive Union for many years.
He is a member of several Professional bodies such as Nigeria Institute of Management (Chattered), September, 2003. Member, Association of Nigeria Universities Professional Administrators (MANUPA), 2006.
He has attended many Conferences, Workshops and Seminars which include trainings on Managing Industrial Relations workshop for Executive Members of SSANU in Nigeria Universities held at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan 2002, Management Seminar organized by the Bendel State University, Ekpoma comprising of a variations of relevant topics (1983), “The Nigerian Manager and the challenges of Management” June, 2004 organized by Nigeria Institute of Management, Ekpoma Branch, “Managing Nigeria: Adding value” Nigeria Institute of Management Induction Lecture for new members; The Professional Manager and his Health” organized by Nigeria Institute of Management, Ekpoma Branch and “Essentials of Investment in stock ”a workshop organized by ANUPA, Ekpoma Branch, (2009).
He received Honours and Awards from the following bodies:
Commendation letter for outstanding services as Senior Assistant Registrar I, Senate Matters Unit by the Management of Ambrose Alli University; Merit Award from the Federated Union of Bendel Students, Ibadan Polytechnic Branch for altruistic, dedicated and outstanding service, 1981 and Award by Management and Parents Teachers Association of Ebenator Secondary Commercial School, Ebenator, Orlu Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria for being conscientious, hardworking and reliable Youth Corper in the 1981/82 service year.
He was appointed to the position of Acting Registrar, Ambrose Alli University on April, 2021.
He is happily married to Dame (Professor) Justina Onobhibhamu Ehiakhamen (Nee Ibhayehor) and the marriage is blessed with many children and grand-children.
