The department offers a degree programme leading to the award of the Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry).
PHILOSOPHY
The training in Biochemistry is designed to cover all physio-chemical and molecular processes upon which life is based. This means exposing students to an understanding of the physical and chemical nature of the substances in living things, particularly in our environment molecular basis as their interaction with one another.
OBJECTIVES
The above philosophy is pursued with the following objectives:
Candidate should possess the G.C.E. ‘O’ level or S.S.C.E. at credit level in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
UME Entrance Requirement:
The UME subjects for candidates seeking admission into the Biochemistry degree programme are English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
Direct Entry Requirement:
The 3 years degree programme is for direct candidates who must possess ‘O’ level credit in Mathematics and English Language plus at least 2 ‘A’ level or HSC passes in relevant science subjects including Chemistry, Biology, and one other subject.
