On May 28th, 2021, exactly 17 days after the appointment of Professor Osarhieme Benson Osadolor as Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, (AAU). The AAU Football Team defeated the University of Benin (UNIBEN) Football team at the Main Bowl of the UNIBEN Sport Complex, to clinch the coveted Edo Varsity Cup 2021.

At a brief but impressive ceremony at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, the captain of AAU FC handed over the gold cup trophy to the Acting Vice-Chancellor. The cup was accompanied by a cash price of the $500 donated by Augustine Osaware Foundation.,
It is interesting to note that the AVC, before his appointment was a Professor at the University of Benin and this is the first time that Team AAU is defeating Team UNIBEN in their home ground.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Osarhieme Benson Osadolor expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Ambrose Alli University Football Team for the victory. He remarked that this is the result of teamwork noting that once we position ourselves, we can catapult our team to greater heights.

He advised the members of the team to continue in academic excellence while working hard to maintain the cup in the future years.
We congratulate The Vice-Chancellor, Team AAU, the coach, Director of Sports Mr. Solomon Ighodaro and the entire Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma community for the great victory
